Therefore, it\u2019s no surprise that top-notch visual media has been an essential component of a captivating e-commerce experience for years. Nor is it surprising that visual media\u2019s importance only rose during the COVID-19 pandemic, a reality for all retailers, including our client Levi\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>During a recent webinar held on April 8 titled <a href=\"https:\/\/info.cloudinary.com\/convert-with-visual-media-retail-touchpoints_LP-OnDemand.html\"><em>Why Effective Management of Visual Media Is a Must for E-Commerce<\/em><\/a>, in which I participated with <em>Retail TouchPoints<\/em>, Levi\u2019s shared insight into how they addressed that situation. Gaetano Curci, Levi\u2019s\u00ae Footwear &amp; Accessories; and Matteo Sangiorgio, Geos Consult, spoke alongside me about how they\u2019ve mastered online management of media.<\/p>\n<h2>A Media-First Approach Helps Levi\u2019s Capture Orders Despite COVID-19<\/h2>\n<p>Nowadays, e-commerce is a golden opportunity for retailers to deliver even more compelling and engaging experiences than they can in person, especially if physical retailing is not a feasible option. A case in point: when the pandemic struck a year ago and restrictions were imposed worldwide, Levi\u2019s wholesale distributors could not travel to review new collections and pick the merchandise to carry. Levi\u2019s sought to offer them an immersive and visual experience that still allowed for effective merchandising\u2014without their having to set foot on a plane or in a showroom.<\/p>\n<p>What Levi\u2019s did was create a digital showroom that displays 360-degree interactive product views of more than 40,000 items. With such a media-first approach, Levi\u2019s captured orders despite the pandemic. Below are five ways in which to effectively manage media online.
