# What does "Pending" mean in the user's status section?


When you invite a new user to your Cloudinary account, their status appears on the [User Management](dam_admin_users_groups#managing_users) page in **Settings**.

The "pending" status indicates that the user hasn't verified their email yet.

When you add a user, the system sends them a verification email that requires them to click the link before it expires. If the link has expired, send them a new email.

In order to resend a verification email, you can navigate to [Settings > User Management](https://console.cloudinary.com/app/settings/user-management/users), click the 3-dot icon for the user in question, then select "Resend Invite".

> **NOTES**:
>
> * The user isn't active and can't perform any operations until they verify their email. However, the user takes a user seat out of your allotted quota even when their status is pending.

> * Email services might route a legitimate invitation email to a spam folder. If the intended recipient says they haven't received an invitation, ask them to check their spam folder.
