Cloudinary is looking for a seasoned Director of Product Marketing who will provide strategic direction and tactical execution to promote all Cloudinary products. The Director of Product Marketing will report to the VP of Marketing and work closely with the Product Management team.

As the leader in cloud-based image and video management for both web and mobile applications, Cloudinary is the natural choice for companies wanting to upload, store, manipulate, optimize and deliver images and video.


Responsibilities:

  • Build Market Awareness – Implement and manage on-going market awareness programs to ensure consistent cadence of outbound product content and materials
  • Messaging - Identify target customer segments and relevant personas. Develop and own product positioning, segmentation, messaging and value propositions that differentiate Cloudinary solutions in the marketplace
  • Product Roadmap - Influence product roadmap and business strategy with understanding of the market and customers; advocate for the right investments
  • Business Case – Partner with PM to build business cases and analytical support/insight for new business initiatives; this requires identifying and understanding key issues for customer personas, quantitatively analyzing these issues, and communicating key insights and results
  • Go-To-Market Strategy – Build and manage successful GTM strategies through deep engagement with product management, sales and the marketing team
  • Product Launch - Ensure all product launches are maximized for the biggest bang
  • Sales Enablement – Support marketing programs, campaigns and additional assets with content and messaging for Sales readiness to drive demand
  • Market & Competitive Intelligence – Continuously monitor the market and assess the competition to gain a thorough understanding of technology shifts and market needs. Understand key messages being promoted and discussed; manage and adjust product messaging accordingly. Monitor competitive news and information keeping up to date on competitive announcements and product claims.
  • Collateral Generation – Develop, publish, and share technical content including whitepapers, blog posts, videos, workshops, webinars, training, and tutorials, for novices and experts alike
  • Customer Engagement - Keep current on customer’s product feedback and needs, including customer’s buying behavior, challenges, and motivations to help develop additional messages/collateral
  • Team Management - Lead, develop, and grow a high-performance technology product marketing team


About You:

  • 10+ years work experience; minimum 5+ years in technical product marketing or product management plus development in the software industry, with a strong preference for background in managing SaaS products.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent. MBA or advanced degree – a plus
  • Proven success developing and managing go-to-market plans
  • Experience doing market research and analysis, detailed competitor and/or pricing analysis
  • Experience as a Software Engineer of modern web applications and services
  • Tech-savvy with strong understanding and hands-on experience of the latest web technologies
  • Experience translating complex technical concepts and features into a benefit-driven narrative for audiences ranging from C-level executives to developers to internal sales professionals
  • Ability to understand and explain complex systems, code, implementation and integration processes in simple terms
  • Motivated, results-oriented, multi-tasking go-getter up to the challenge of a fast-paced environment
  • Detail and results oriented. Skilled at both planning and hands-on execution
  • Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, and relationship management skills
  • Strong collaboration skills: will be required to coordinate closely with multiple teams that are geographically dispersed
  • Comfortable working in a small company environment
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
