Our 2020 Holiday Gift Guide

With the holiday season upon us, it’s time to take stock of what brings us joy and for many of us giving gifts to loved ones is at the top of the list. We’re lucky that so many of our customers are also our favorite brands -- which makes gift giving pretty easy.

From mission-based brands like Allbirds and Bombas, who donated shoes and socks to health care workers and those hardest hit by the pandemic this year, to publishers and bookstores like Bloomsbury Publishing and Powell’s Books, and modern fashion retailers focused on production transparency and less waste like Everlane and Reformation, there’s something for everyone on your list.

Here are a few of our favorite things. What are you giving this year, or hoping to receive? We’d love to know!

wine.com Milind Pansare, Sr. Director of Product- While I may not be able to have extended family or friends over for a big Holiday dinner this year, I plan to order some amazing wine from wine.com’s 2020 top 100 list to be shipped to them (and some to me). My personal favorite on that list is the Seghesio Zinfandel from Sonoma, California. Cheers!
Winslow-Dress Juli Greenwood, Director of Communications- Reformation’s Winslow Dress would be a fun departure from yoga pants. As would a holiday party to wear it to. Hopefully next year! I also ordered the runners in my life some Bombas compression socks. I can no longer do my training runs without them!
Bruce Lee Sanjay Sarathy, VP Marketing- Support a local artist and expand your casual Friday wardrobe. I have a preference for TeePublic’s Bruce Lee t-shirt collection, but there are no shortage of memes to choose from.
Everlane Cashmere Bandana Olga Vinokurova, Senior Graphic Designer- Get cozy yet chic during your next Zoom call with this cashmere bandana from Everlane. It gets double points for serving as a face cover if you go outside and happen to forget your favorite face mask at home.
LapGear Jason Khoury, Head of Corporate Marketing- With so many more people working from home (or wherever they so choose), Office Depot has so many options to make remote work that much easier. I personally love the LapGear Home Office, because let’s face it….standing and sitting at the desk can only go so far.
Bianca Cuff Marissa Masangcay, Technical Marketing- Give the gift of a timeless piece of jewelry that won’t break the bank. Sézane’s Biana Cuff is an instant way to elevate your look whether you’re dressing up or down.
Advent Calendar Alexa Phoenix, Global Events Manager- Tis the Season to spoil your adorable pup or cat with this 12 day Advent Calendar from Holiday Tails at Petco. They get 12 unique toys to join in on the fun of counting down the days until Christmas!
Shelburne Parka Alison Bensch, Sr. Director of Global Events- Give the gift of warmth this winter with the Shelburne Parka from Canada Goose. These stylish and comfortable jackets are designed for superior cold weather protection and will last you for many winters to come.

We hope you have a restful holiday season with loved ones, and we wish you a happy and healthy New Year!

Amplify Your Jamstack With Video

Amplify Your Jamstack With Cloudinary Video

As defined by Amazon Web Services (AWS), Amplify is a set of products and tools with which mobile and front-end web developers can build and deploy AWS-powered, secure, and scalable full-stack apps. Also, you can efficiently configure their back ends, connect them to your app with just a few lines of code, and deploy static web apps in only three steps. Historically, because of their performance issues, managing images and videos is a daunting challenge for developers. Even though you can easily load media to an S3 bucket with AWS Amplify, transforming, compressing, and responsively delivering them is labor intensive and time consuming.

Cloudinary Helps Move James Hardie’s Experience Online

While COVID has affected most businesses, it has been particularly hard on those that sell products for the physical ‘brick and mortar’ world. One company that literally fits that bill is our Australian customer James Hardie, the largest global manufacturer of fibre cement products used in both domestic and commercial construction. These are materials that its buyers ideally want to see up close, in detail. When customers have questions, they expect personal service.
