In the time it has taken to hit the 3 million mark, you’ve told us what matters to you, surfaced countless use cases, and spurred us on to be supportive, and to work alongside you as peers. That kind of goodwill is hard won, and now, nearly one in five new registrations comes from word-of-mouth recommendations. In the leap from 2M to 3M, accomplished in only 15 months, a new user signed up every 35 seconds!
In just a little over a year all things AI have hit critical mass. As a technology, AI has seen levels of development, adoption, to say nothing of investment, never before seen in any technology.
At the forefront of AI development, Cloudinary has long been positioned to help developers apply these groundbreaking new capabilities to their workflows. Of particular interest to us has been Generative AI that has also moved from niche to mainstream, whose AI models are improving seemingly, hourly, and has made Agentic a household word.

The rapid rise of AI provided us with an opportunity to redouble our efforts and deliver improved popular AI-powered capabilities like Generative Fill and launched AI Vision that utilizes a multimodal LLM to automate tagging and moderation. We added C2PA content credentials for provenance; and automatic video titles, descriptions, and tags on upload. We also released the Cloudinary MCP server and AI-ready docs, which allows AI agents such as Claude and Cursor work with your account so you can upload, transform, tag, and automate media using plain language and accurate context. And much more.
These product enhancements have played a significant role in speeding us to the 3 million mark, and fueling growth in other areas of the Cloudinary ecosystem and beyond. We now have:
- 80B media assets under management.
- ~2,500 developers sign up every day.
- 198 countries and territories make up Cloudinary’s user base.
- 59M images per enterprise customer.1
- 427PB of image and video traffic.
- 570k tons of CO2 saved.3
Taken together, these numbers show a community that trusts in what they build and a platform shaped by that day-to-day use.
