GraphCMS UI Extension

Last updated: Sep-26-2023

The GraphCMS-Cloudinary UI Extension allows GraphCMS users to manage content and Cloudinary assets via a single interface, with direct access to Cloudinary's dynamic Media Library.

Important
The GraphCMS-Cloudinary integration described here was developed according to Cloudinary's best practices and has been reviewed by the Cloudinary technical team.

Overview

GraphCMS enables developers to build content APIs, while providing content editors with tools to manage their content. The hosted content APIs can then be applied to websites, apps, and other digital platforms. GraphCMS enables teams to unify their stack and programmatically create, edit, enrich, deliver, and consume content from any frontend or backend service.

The GraphCMS-Cloudinary UI Extension allows content editors to natively search, edit and manage digital Cloudinary assets directly from within GraphCMS. This is done by adding single or multiple Cloudinary fields in your schema and clicking a button to open the Media Library. From there, you can manage assets, and then select the images and/or videos to insert directly into your site.

With the GraphCMS UI Extension installed, you can benefit from these powerful Cloudinary features, made easily accessible:

  • The Cloudinary DAM as your single source of truth for storing and collaborating on all of your rich media files. You can share media with other users, apply structured metadata values tailored for your organization's media workflow, and take advantage of advanced AI capabilities that enable automatic tagging, face detection, advanced search capabilities, background removal, and more.
  • Cloudinary's media optimizations, which enable media handling at scale including automatic image and video optimization and fast delivery to every user device and delivery channel.

Note
The Safari browser may require additional steps when logging in to the Media Library. If you encounter an issue, follow the prompts to log in separately and attempt to open the Media Library again. Alternatively, use one of the other recommended browsers when working with Cloudinary.
